When you hire a logo designer, you’re paying him to design a mark that will become the face of your company, something you can use everywhere, so having a picture of that mark doesn’t cut it. Here’s what I mean, most clients after a logo design project will just receive the picture file of their logo and they’re content with it, but it won’t work. Yes, pictures files can serve you to a degree. For example, you could upload them on your social media handles, you could set your profile pictures with them, and if it’s PNG you could even make simple social media graphics with them. But what of your other needs? For example, what if you want to print the logo on a billboard? What if you want to change the logo’s color to better suit a design you’re trying to make? What if you want to use the logo on more advanced graphics like motion and advertising? Having picture files won’t serve those needs. The problem with taking just pictures files is that you can’t edit them. You can’t change their color, you can resize them without losing quality, you don’t have control at all.
That’s not what you paid for. You didn’t pay for a picture, you paid for so much more. But what really did you pay for? Would you want to know all the files your designer should give you when you design a logo? Let me know, maybe I’ll write about that.
Thank you for reading. Gracias.
